Why we compare categories, not vendor names
Three reasons, and the third is the one that matters to you:
- Accuracy lasts longer. Any given product's feature list changes faster than a web page does. A named comparison is out of date the moment that vendor ships a release; a category comparison stays true for years.
- It is fairer. We are not in a position to keep another vendor's current capabilities accurately documented, and we would rather not misrepresent them.
- It answers the real question. You are not choosing a logo, you are choosing how many databases, contracts and support numbers your team will carry. That is a property of the category, not the brand.
